“I saw The KleenSlate Paddle classroom set advertised in a teaching catalog last summer and thought that they would be a great addition to my Kindergarten language program. I was excited to see how these boards would help to make my handwriting program more hands-on and interactive. I wanted a quick way for each student to be able to practice the letter of the week at the carpet without the mess of chalk. Much to my delight, these boards were exactly what I was hoping for! “I’ll never forget how the KleenSlate paddle saved the day at my hospital. As a nurse I have to take care of some pretty ill patients and sometimes they aren’t very nice back. There was this big, angry man there once who had just undergone a complete larangectomy and couldn’t talk at all. Everyone had taken care of him and no one wanted to again. The reason was he was mean and would throw things at the nurses. I was in charge that day so I decided to take the “one” no one wanted to ease the tensions. I walked into his room and he glared at me. I thought “uh oh” as I saw his hand go for a nearby cup which he was deciding whether he would drink from or throw at me. Quickly I backed out of the room. I returned minutes later with a KleenSlate dry erase paddle. I was lucky enough to have one I had bought  from Office Depot the week before for my niece who was in school learning her alphabet. I wrote on it “For you” and then showed him how easily the words erased from the board and snapped the pen into place. He was bed bound and I was sure it must have been hard to always find a pencil and paper to write on, much less get anyone to read it. The change was immediate. His face lit up with a smile as big as I placed the paddle in his hand. He quickly wrote back “Thank you” and put a smiley face on the whiteboard. By the end of the day he was such a changed man that my coworkers were convinced I had switched him for another patient. He was writing “please” and “thank you” and never threw another thing at anybody. As I left for the day I passed his room and he wrote, “I love you all so much.” I could read it clearly even from the door. Thank you KleenSlate for a real miracle.”
